Learn how Million Hearts® aims to Prevent Heart Attack and Stroke

Million Hearts® is a national initiative that brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country in an effort to prevent one million heart attacks and strokes by 2017. Join CMS representatives on Thursday, July 10 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. ET to hear about how Million Hearts® is:

  • Improving access to effective care
  • Improving the quality of care for the ABCS:
    • Aspirin for people at risk for heart attack and stroke
    • Blood pressure control
    • Cholesterol management
    • Smoking cessation
  • Focusing clinical attention on the prevention of heart attacks and stroke
  • Activating the public to lead a heart-healthy lifestyle
  • Linking community and clinical experts to improve health for populations at highest risk for disparate outcomes
  • Improving the prescription of and adherence to appropriate medications for the ABCS
