Delay of Flexibility Rule Implementation

DHCS previously announced that on March 24, 2015 the State Level Registry (SLR) would be able to accept 2014 applications from professionals using the Flexibility Rule.  However, DHCS now projects that the SLR will not be able to accept these applications until March 31, 2015.  DHCS regrets this delay.  The deadline for receipt of these applications will remain unchanged at May 31, 2015.  Please visit the SLR home page at http://medi-cal.ehr.ca.gov/ for future information.

Submission Extension for EPs Participating in PQRS via EHR and QCDR: March 20

CMS announced that the submission deadlines for some Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) reporting methods have been extended to March 20, 2015 at 8pm ET:

Providers Switching Programs - CMS Deadline is December 31, 2014

Providers who wish to switch from the Medicare EHR Incentive Program to the Medi-Cal EHR Incentive Program must update their registration with CMS (https://ehrincentives.cms.gov/hitech/login.action) by 12/31/14 (CMS deadline). After the switch has been completed with CMS, providers can apply to the Medi-Cal EHR Incentive Program until 3/31/15 (Medi-Cal Program Year 2014 deadline). 2014 is the last program year that providers can switch between the Medicare and Medi-Cal EHR Incentive Programs.

Medi-Cal Electronic Health Record Incentive Program Information Regarding 2014 Prequalified Clinics

The Department of Health Care Services has reviewed data from the Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development (OSHPD) in order to prequalify certain clinics based on their Medi-Cal claims data. The prequalification status allows the clinics to submit their registration for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program without having to calculate and provide Medi-Cal encounter data for their providers.
